Start your research journey here.

The Basic Research Course is a foundational program designed for medical and health science students who want to understand how research really works — before diving into writing or publishing.

Across four sessions, you’ll learn what research is and why it matters, how to turn an idea into a clear research question and aim, the main study designs used in medicine, and the core terminology every researcher is expected to know.

By the end, you’ll have the vocabulary and conceptual base needed to confidently move on to advanced research training. No prior experience required. (25 JOD)
